Hillsborough

On April 15th 1989 Liverpool football supporters attending an FA Cup semi final match against Nottingham Forest found themselves caught up in a terrible crush behind one of the goals at Sheffield Wednesday's Hillsborough stadium.

The death toll eventually reached 96.

I was one of the lucky ones.

Criminal charges against those responsible have never been brought. Lies and misinformation designed to point blame for the disaster firmly at the supporters themselves have further angered the families of those who were killed.

On the 20th anniversary of the disaster I painted three images that to me depicted the key moments of the day.

They are not pleasant pictures to view, nor incidentally are they for sale, but I want people to see the paintings and to read and learn about what happened that day.

Paint some memories of your stay here in Granada. Contact me for details.
